- My child is almost 15 months old and she is way a head of her developement according to the doctors. So she seems ready for a big kid bed. We bought a convert. bed when she was born so all we have to do is take down one side. Well, she's starting to put her legs through the sides and getting them stuck and she also is biting on the wood of the bed so there are a lot of rough teeth marks. I figured it's time to take that side off.
